About

Hi, I'm Larry Leo. AI Consulate Blog is where I dig into how AI can actually help the people running consular services, government offices, and citizen-facing teams - without the hype.

I'm a U.S. military veteran and an independent web publisher. I build and run my own portfolio of websites, and I started AI Consulate because public-service teams get pitched a lot of AI magic and not nearly enough practical, honest guidance. The stakes are higher when the person on the other side of the counter needs a passport, a visa, or an emergency answer - so that's the lens I write from.

What you'll find here: real-world uses of AI in diplomatic and consular work, AI for government and public services, plain-English takes on responsible AI and governance, and step-by-step implementation playbooks you can actually follow.

How I work: I research every topic against official documentation, government sources, and reputable industry reporting. I use AI tools to help with drafting, but I review and edit what gets published here. If I get something wrong, tell me - there's a contact page for exactly that - and I'll fix it.

One quick disclosure: this site runs Google AdSense ads. Ads don't shape what I write, and I don't take payment for favorable coverage.
